We’ve covered a few nautical miles to get here and are truly excited about taking the helm of the (Big) Island Marina.
Mom and pop operations are pretty rare these days. It’s our aim to bring an extra personal touch that comes form being local folks, who are part of the sailing community.
MEET THE CREW
~ ISLAND MARINA’S CREW ~
Mike Miller – Management
Mike is a licensed home inspector servicing the broader Portland region under Miller Home Inspection. Mike dabbles in club laser sailing and enjoys an occasional go-out in their Celebrity sloop. Mostly, he’s there for Conrad’s competitive sailing, and may be off at a youth regatta at any given moment.. Mike is the go-to person here at the marina.
Heather Poehler – Administration
Heather works at Portland State University, and handles the administration here at Island Marina. Heather enjoys sailing the family’s Celebrity sloop – in up to 15 knots- and supports Conrad’s competitive sailing. Basically, Heather holds it all together. Oh, and her apple pie is delicious!
Conrad Miller – Operations
Conrad is a student at Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland and he pretty much rips in a sailboat. He competes regionally and nationally in the Laser and 29er fleets, and has competed in three world championship regattas! Watch for news on Conrad’s upcoming events. Conrad is also a good go-to for splices and help with performance rigging. If you see a laser or 29er going out, chances are – it’s Conrad.
